How OWScouter handles your information, and the terms for using the site.
Privacy policy
This policy explains what information OWScouter collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Who we are
OWScouter (owscouter.com) is an independent website operated from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us at owscouter@proton.me.
Information we collect
If you create an account
- Your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password itself).
- Your account details: when you signed up, your plan (free or Premium), and settings you choose such as your profile hero.
- Things you save in the app, such as Map Drawer boards and Draft Planner plans.
If you subscribe to Premium
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. Stripe tells us your customer and subscription reference, whether your subscription is active and when it renews or ends, so we can give you access. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
When you use the site
- Visit counts. We count how many times each page is viewed per day. To count unique visitors without cookies, we combine your IP address and browser type with that day's date and a secret key into a one-way code. The IP address itself is not stored, the code changes every day so visits can't be linked across days, and the codes are deleted after about four months.
- Security. Your IP address is used briefly in memory to limit repeated sign-in attempts and abuse. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
Public FACEIT match data
The stats on OWScouter come from public FACEIT match data: player nicknames, teams, match results, scoreboards, map picks and hero bans in FACEIT League. We show this so the community can follow and analyse the leagues. If you are a player and want a correction or have a concern about how your data appears, contact us.
Cookies and browser storage
- Essential cookie: if you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. The site cannot work without it, so it doesn't need consent.
- Your preferences: the app saves choices like your theme, season, division, filters, favourites and patch selection in your browser's local storage so they're there next time. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. If you choose to enter your own FACEIT API key, it is also stored only in your browser.

Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which helps keep most of OWScouter free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Visitors in the UK, EU and EEA are asked for consent before any advertising cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown with the consent message.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We only share it with services that help us run the site:
- Render hosts the website and its database.
- Stripe processes Premium payments.
- Google serves ads (AdSense) and the site's fonts (Google Fonts).
- unpkg delivers some of the site's code libraries to your browser.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Why we use your information (legal bases)
- To provide your account and Premium: necessary to perform our agreement with you.
- Visit counts, security and showing public league stats: our legitimate interests in running, protecting and improving the site.
- Personalised advertising cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping payment records: our legal obligations.
How long we keep it
- Account information: until you delete your account. You can do this yourself from the account menu in the app, which removes your account and saved content.
- Payment records: as long as the law requires (usually six years in the UK).
- Daily visitor codes: about four months. Daily page-view totals contain no personal information.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email owscouter@proton.me and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
OWScouter is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app or on our Discord.
Terms of use
These terms apply when you use owscouter.com. By using the site you agree to them.
The service
OWScouter provides statistics and scouting tools for FACEIT's Overwatch leagues, built from public match data. Most of the site is free. Some tools need a free account or a Premium subscription. We may add, change or remove features over time.
Not affiliated with Blizzard or FACEIT
OWScouter is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment or FACEIT. Overwatch, hero names and game imagery are trademarks or property of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. FACEIT is a trademark of its owner. They are used here only to identify the game and the leagues.
Accounts
- Give a real email address you control, and keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Don't share Premium access with others.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account menu in the app.
Premium subscriptions
- Premium costs £3.99/month and renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- You can cancel at any time from the subscription page. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Payments are not refundable for partly used periods, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us and we'll help.
- If we change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- scrape, bulk-download or copy large parts of the site's data, or use automated tools that put heavy load on it;
- try to get around Premium, rate limits or security, or access other people's accounts;
- use the site to harass players or teams, or for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Accuracy of the stats
We work hard to keep the numbers right, but they come from FACEIT data and our own calculations, so they can contain gaps, delays or mistakes. The site is provided "as is". Please use it as a guide, not as an official record; FACEIT's own results are the official ones.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, OWScouter isn't liable for indirect losses or for decisions made using the site, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for Premium, we'll let you know first. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
